With Bebe, the rag doll she made, in hand, Wednesday walked through the gateway and prepared for the better. She gazed around, meandering slowly to take everything in. "Gee, this place is beautiful, but awfully sunny," she thought. The skirt that she was wearing was enough material for a pocket, and in that very pocket was a set metallic beads; she picked a black one with stars. Wednesday squeezed the bead, then lifted her hand to her lips and kissed it; she threw it in the air. While in the air, the bead had a cartooned look as it transformed into a parasol. Wednesday caught it while walking away from it. "That's better," she thought, and she walked on.

Craven was skulking closer to the school when he saw a girl with a parasol and a rag doll. He stayed some distance behind, but ducked his head, as his mouth twitched into a smile. ~Hmm, very interesting. . .~
