The clash of blades could be heard as of in the distance. A figure clad in pure black armour stood, around him were three others. On his right was a tall, slim women with spectacular crimson hair. To his left was a man of similar build but with pure white hair. And facing him was a man with white hair and an inhumanly slim build. Suddenly the three around him lunge, attacking in unison. Spinning, in a beautifully executed parry he ducks under one attack, parries another, and completely dodges the third. With the flash of a grin he spins, slashing the chest of the slim man that was standing before him. The slash cuts him open and rips his shirt open in the process. He backs up, smiling as he does so and nods.
The other two press the attack, One swing high while the other jabs towards his chest. He rolls to the side, dodging both attacks and swings upwards at the other man, swiping his leg as he does so. The cut brings the tinge of crimson liquid to his pants leg and he retreats. At this point the armour clad figure stands back up, facing the women before him. His own blade is at the ready for any attack she may throw at him. They stare at each other for a long moment, neither one moving. Finally they both nod and lower their blades.
“Nice job Pheonix. I saw that you won before either of us even had to cross blades.” He says, grinning how as he sheaths his crystalline blade. Pheonix smiles, her own red blade vanishing. “You did not do to bad yourself Lance. You stopped our attacks and even landed two clean blows. That is pretty good if I do say so.” She says and grins. “Not too bad at all.” Pipes up the man with the cut upon his leg.
Lance smiles, his fangs flashing in the light “You were not so bad either Shadow. You nearly had me there with that second time…” he says, chuckling lightly. Shadow laughs, “Yeah, you go ahead and keep saying that. I won’t believe that until I draw blood.” He says with a smirk. Lance chuckles, “Well, you just wait. I’m sure you will one of these days…”
Before Shadow can respond Pheonix speaks up “Well I don’t know about you but the three of us need to go get some rest for the hunt tomorrw. And if you know what is good for you you’ll head home too.” She says, and waves the two men away. With a flash of light a flames they vanish.
Lance stands alone in the field, looking around satisfied, it was a good day. He had come home from a successful hunt, had gotten to spar. And had even almost beaten Pheonix. It was a good day indeed.
