Jean-Claude walked in thinking of Paris and its hidden sanction for the gifted. he missed the area but was happy to be in a place with much more open space for his kind. He was getting ready to start his first day teaching. he didn't know what he taught or which classroom or classrooms were his, but he had applied for French and Elemental Control and Training 101. he seemed very enthusiastic about the classes. he also hoped to make plenty of friends. Being as young as he was couldn't wait to teach his second year ever. He then thought aloud "What a nice teacher's lounge. Much better then the one back in Paris." in a French accent that had already started to disappear from going to a French-American school.

A bright flash illuminates the room and a dull thump can be heard as a spell goes off to one end of the room. Out of this portal of light steps Eknal. He waves one hand behind him and the bright light dims out of existance. He the walks across the room to grab a batch of papers he had forgotten on the table there.
About then is when he noticed the newcommer. He looks at the man, his eyes flashing for a moment and smiles, his elven features quite noticable. "Well hello there, I'm guessing your new around here..?" he asks with a mildly curious tilt to his head.

Jean-Claude looked at him. "Why, yes, I am. I am from France. My name is Jean-Claude. And you?" he said with his slight French accent. He was still blinking from the light change and could only see a silouette of his figure. "I still have to find out what I got, I never got notice except that i was hired." he said pleasently. He smiled as he could see better. /Not bad./ he thought to himself. He thought he looked nice, but did not express these opinions.

"My name is Eknal, I am the spellcraft teacher, it is a pleasure to meet you." he says nodding respectfully. With his free hand he weaves a quick spell in the air and a sheet of paper appears in his hand, he glances down at it and grins, handing it to Jean-Claude. "You are to be the French teacher. Congratulations." he says with a smile, the paper being handed to him is a copy of the school layout and the classrooms with teachers names and what the classes actually are.

"Merci." he said nicely, not realizing he was speaking French. He was excited and distracted. "Nice to meet you, Eknal. I think my son is taking you're class." He had an adopted son from when he lived in France. "How are you?", he said blushing slightly. He hoped it wasn't obvious. He grabbed the paper and began observing it and locating his classroom. He looked back up once he found it on the map, he still had hours to prepare his classroom.

Eknal shruggs, "I am well enough. Had a bit of trouble a while back. But I got the thing under control before it devoured the school. Only had to replace half of the classroom this time." he says with a light chuckle. "And what about you..?" he asks, his eyes seeming to glow a faint blue as there was an odd jingle behind Eknal towards where the portal had been.

"Um..." he said weirded out by the crazy story. "Well, I just moved in from Paris, trying to get away from the loud craziness and the regular people who discovered our little world. Everyone who was gifted in Paris had to retreat to Nice..." he seemed upset about the thought. Then he looked up. "But everything's okay now."

Eknal smiles knowingly "Well that is good to hear. Nothing like discrimination to bring people together. Back where I'm from power might not be uncommon, but magic most certainly is. And those that have skill in the arts are feared and usually hated. Luckily some of the races offer sanctuary from those that would wish us ill..." he says with a sigh as he turns.
A bolt of blue lightning races towards him, which he catches in his hand. He looks into his hand, there is a scroll in it and he smiles faintly, shakes his head, and puts the scroll in one of his pockets.

"Not to be rude or anything, but what was that?" he said nicely. He knew spellcasters he was talking about waht the scroll said. He was already comfortable with magic. He looked at him and blushed more hoping he wouldn't notice, in fact praying he wouldn't notice because he was pretty red. He then said, " You know, the world is so cruel. I wish we could have stayed in France, poor Samuel dosen't like it much yet here, being he fled the country as a teenager."

Eknal laughs lightly and nodds, "It was a message from the assembly, asking if I was free to do a lecture back at the halls. They need someone to introduce the new students to the mages to the campus. And apparently one of the masters is having problems with the loyalists, so they need me to interviene before things get out of hand." he says with a shrug.
"Well, if you liked France what could have caused you to leave, I mean it's not as though most people could stand up against those from this plane that have power. At least not one on one." he says with a curious look entering his eyes.

"Paris has too many people and once the people figured out the entire country was against the about two-hundred of us...." he said faintly. "I don't mind it here though, it's just Samuel..." he said even more faintly. "If only could be a little more happy that situations are better." He smiled then. "The people and area here is so nice and well hidden, it is a great environment.", he then said very nicely, "You can go if you need to I'm about to head to my class anyway."

Eknal nodds, "It is nice here I suppose. Only a select few intelligent races though, back home there are quite a few more, but I suppose that could be a good thing." he says with a shrug. He looks over at the door, "I don't really have anything to do today..." he says, tone mildly curious. He leans backwards, waving his had behind him and making a large recliner appear behind him, which he just happens to land in.
He crosses his legs and places his papers neatly on his lap, "Since you are needed at your class I woun't keep you." he says, flipping non chalantly through the papers, the writing on each page in a foreign language that seems to glow faintly.

"You can come if you want..." he said not wanting to leave Eknal all alone. Plus, he thought he was cute. Though he would never admit it. He also needed help so it all made sense to him that he have him come with him to his class. He waited for a response blushing to the shade of a tomato.

Eknal shrugs "Sure, why not." he says his tone even. He stands up and looks over at the door. "So, you walking there or have some other mode of transport..?" he asks, his tone mildly curious. Something about his tone sounded off...

Sam replied nicely. "I don't have one, do you?" He then noticed the of tone wondering why it was present, perhaps he noticed the blushing. /Maybe he can read my mind, or perhaps I accidentally projected my thoughts.../ he thought. He blushed more at that thought and looked back at Eknal.

Eknal shrugs "I see." he says, waving a hand and the chair he was on shakes for a moment and then raises into the air. "Very well. So, do you know your way around the campus yet or would you like me to lead the way..?" he asks, turning to look more directly towards Jean-Claude. The chair changes direction to point the direction his head turned, a smooth, easy movement.

Sam sat in the chair. "No, not really..." he seemed a bit obviously blushing at Eknal. He has excited. He did not ride in floating objects controlled by other people often, he had done it himself using his telekinesis, but he would rather be guided to his classroom. He smiled and said, "Lead the way."

Eknal nodds "Very well." he says, making a small symbol in the air and then going back to reading his papers adn the chair rocketed forwards, throughout the school. It weaved to and frow on its way to Jean-Claudes classroom. He flips through the glowing pages, not really looking at the scenery. "Might I ask why you choose to move here, when there are so many other places you could have gone..?" he asks.

"Well, it seemed out of the way and I was offered a possibility for a job here. I needed to be far from Europe, things are too crowded there and it is secluded here. Baisically, safety and community." he said mater-of-factly. he was taking in all of the scenery as he said this. He was also admiring Eknal's good looks from afar. He then said "Do you have any other abilities than spell casting?"

Eknal grins faintly to himself. "Yes. Though I don't ever really use them. Spell casting can cover anything I need." he says with a grin. He sets aside his papers, having allready finished them though there must have been at least seven hundred pages. It did not even seem as though he had been reading that fast. "This is taking much to long..." he says with a laugh, waving his hand and teleporting them instantly to Jean-Claude's classroom.
