The hum of the mall soothed Sean as he flipped through CD case after CD case. He was desperate for new music. He had almost completely burned himself out of his favorite bands ever since he moved to this town. No one warned him about the graveyards while he was still thinking about moving here. However, The music store was his safe haven. It was his supplier of peace in this new town and it made him a lover of all music. Mostly out of necessity, beggars can't be choosers as he'd always heard.
He sighed in defeat, he couldn't find the CD he's been looking for. The CD that would completely his collection. He approached the store clerk and asked an awkward question "Independent Worm Salon..."
The clerk raised an eyebrow "I'm sorry what?" he asked confused
"Independent Worm Salon, the only Butthole Surfers CD you never have where is it?"
"Have you tried looking under 'S' for Surfers instead of 'B'?" The clerk retorted. Sean let out a heavy sigh and walked back to the music rack and started searching the 'S's.

In the next row over, a little girl's voice could be heard, but it was so faint that only someone near could hear her at all. At first it sounded like a bunch of muffled, high pitched grunts, but after a while, the voice seemed to talk to herself. "Oh, bother. Why do I have to be so short?! I can't see what I'm doing," she said, all cute and childish. The little girl began to make her way to the store clerk in hope of some help, but instead she bumped into a big guy and was on her but. "Owie," she said softly, trying her best not to cry, but it really seemed to hurt.

Sean regained his balance from the force of the collision. He shook his head and looked down seeing what seemed to be a little girl. He grabbed her hand and yanked her up repeating "Are you ok?" He could see the tears forming in her eyes and began to panic "No no, don't cry, please." He looked around the store to see they were the only ones in there besides the clerk. He knelt down to the girl and asked and smiled softly "Where's your mommy little girl?"

The little girl panicked from the sudden movement and hid her face behind her bunny. "I-I," she began, "I don't have my mommy anymore, she lives with daddy very far from here." Her breath was fast paced and panicky, "I-I'm sorry!" She tried to run away, but there were too many people around the area, so she sat down in a curled up ball. There was nothing she could do but cry and wait for everyone to move out of the store.

Sean sighed and sat on the floor next to the little girl. "Please don't cry, I'm sorry for startling you." He looked over to the clerk who just shrugged at him and continued with what he was doing. Sean turned his attention to the girl once again and smiled and with a calm, caring voice introduced himself "Hi, I'm Sean."

The girl stopped and sniffled in her bunny for a little bit. Slowly, after all the sniffling was over, two big, bright, red, watery eyes looked at Sean from behind the bunny's head, "Ich heisse Fuchs Schwarzesblatt, but you might want to call me Fox." She was adorable wearing a big coat and a scarf over the lower half of her face, but the bunny seemed cuter with Fox squeezing the life out of it in fear.

Sean smiled and scooted closer to the girl. "Fox, huh, that's a strange name for a little girl." He looked around the store "So, what were you in here for? What's your favorite kind of music?" He smiled, trying to make her feel comfortable.

Fox's breath began to calm down, but she was still obviously nervous. "I," as she seemed to start her sentences lately, "was looking for a classical piano piece, but I'm too small. I can't see where anything is." She then, too, looked around the store, "but I guess I'm lost." Her eyes seemed depressed and more watery.

"Well then, I think I can help with that...as long as you can do me a favor?" Sean smirked and stood up "All you have to do is, please don't cry, and I'll find you your CD." Sean moved over to the Classical section and started pulling random CDs out that looked like something a girl named Fox would enjoy.

Fox got up and carefully looked around before she thought of moving; she didn't want to get knocked down again. Still holding the bunny tight, the little girl shuffled her way to the area where Sean was. Fox looked up on and off, for she was hoping to find him quickly. Even though the store was small, to her trying to find someone was one if the hardest things to manage. She stopped, looked over, and found Sean; from then on Fox kept very close to Sean.
