Ash silently sat on the roof of the abandoned building, staring out at the forest and the lake, and the field. Thoughts raced through his mind, like 'This all seems so familiar', and 'I have been here before...' Then, suddenly, a flashback:
Ash stood on the edge of the building, his arms out at his sides, the wind blowing through his hair. He leaned forward, and fell through the air.
Then, as suddenly as it came, it stopped. He shook his head fiercely and said, with an edge of anger in his voice, "Gah! Damn it all! What the hell does it mean!?"

Molly reached the top of the stairs at the abandoned building and saw a guy looking quite distressed. She paused for a moment before walking towards him and tapping him on the shoulder,"Excuse me sir... Are you quite alright?" She inquired, furrowing her eyebrow in worry.

Ash looked at her and said, "Ma'am... If you could please tell me, what is this place... It seems vaguely familiar, but I don't know... I just don't know..." He shook his head and sighed, then stood up and brushed himself off. He then walked over to her, and stood about 10 feet away.

Molly looked around and wondered to herself how he got to such a place if he didn't know where he was.. "This.. This is Mountain View Academy for the Gifted." She looked at him with even more concern in her eyes, and she paused to consider what to say next, "Has something happened?"

Ash's eyes opened wide when she said Mountain View, and another flashback:
Ash slowly, steadily, walked up the front steps of Mountain View Academy, and sat on the top one. A girl was suddenly there, like the memory skipped a few minutes. She said hi to him.
Then it was gone, just like the first one. "I have been here before! I just can't remember!" He said, then he grabbed his head and looked towards the ground, then he looked back up at her, no emotion showing in his eyes.

Molly tilted her head to one side and gave him a funny look, "You must be suffering from amnesia..." She said sadly. "Do you remember anything at all?" She asked, trying to helpful...

Ash shook his head and said, "The only things I remember are being in heaven... Then I was in the forest.... Then, I just came here. As if by instinct. I.... I've been dead for a long time, now. Close to 100 years. I don't remember how I died, or anything that happened before that...." He sighed deeply, then looked towards the sky.

Molly let out a small giggle, "Heaven huh?" She said, walking over to the rail and leaning against it, "I'm not sure... If I believe any of that." She shrugged, not looking at him now, but instead over to the view.

Ash shrugged and said, "Believe what you want to believe. It's none of my business." He put his hands on his waists, then stretched. He reached towards the back of his pants and pulled out a very large silver gun. He stared at it, then cocked it and shot a practice shot into a metal pipe sticking out of the ground. He shot it straight through the center, and it crumbled into a pile of iron dust. He smiled and said, "Surprised I still know how to do that. Guess dad left me a little present..."

Molly watched and when it hit so perfectly she gave small applause, although muffled by her soft leather gloves. "Very good! What was your name again, Sir?" She asked with politeness. "I am Molly. Molly Rebson." She smiled lightly as she add her name.

Ash smiled at her and said, "Err... Molly, that's a pretty name. My name is Ashengard Von Helsing, at your service." He bowed low, then returned to his upright position.

"thank you" Molly blinked, "That's an.. impressive name." She glanced around, "I truly hope there is a simplified version..." She said with top courtesy.

Ash nodded and said, "Ash... Heheh." He looked over to a small, metal shed across the roof of the building, then another flashback:
Ash stood on the roof of the abandoned building, the door to the shed wide open. He deposited various items into it, such as swords, a bag of various sharp things, knives, and guns. He shut the door and locked it tightly, then put a padlock on it.
Joe shook his head wildly, then ran over to the shed and pressed his hands up against it, searching for something along its wall.

Molly followed nervously behind him, "Ash? What is it?" She peered over his shoulder to see what it was he was looking for, or perhaps even finding...

Ash's hands moved swiftly, to the door of the shed. He kicked the padlock, and the rusted, old thing broke. "There's something in this shed! I think I used to... Put things here... Hmmm" He kicked it open, and inside was a treasure trove of weapons, from bags of throwing stars, rows of swords, and guns. Then, shining in the corner, all alone, was a large orb, rather like a crystal ball, that was glowing redish-orange, with swirling on the inside, like the sun.

Molly blinked, "Ooh. This stuff is amazing!" She said, getting a little excited at all the weapons and things. She was busy looking through all the other stuff that she didn't notice the orb in the corner...

Ash looked at the orb and his eyes widened. He rushed over to it and kneeled down. He grabbed it. The instant it touched his skin and orange glow surrounded him, and an orange light shone out of every orifice in his body. ((Not those other holes, you perv)) In an instant, the light was gone, and the orb was still glowing. He shivered, then said, "Holy shat. What just happened?" His skin was warm, very warm, hot, even.

When that happened to Ash, Molly had turned in surprise. "I... I'm not sure at all..." She said, placing her finger on her lip to think. "It seemed like it was obviously a magical orb... But what it did? I have no clue.. Maybe we should talk to someone of authority in the matter?"

Ash shook his head and said, "I dunno. I feel... Hot. Like, I'm burning up." He held his palm up to the ceiling. A ribbon of fire shot out, and twirled around viciously, before returning into his hand. He opened his eyes even wider and said, "Woah!" He examined his hands closely.

Molly smiled, "Ah your a Pyro too! How cool. Seems like that orb activated your power to it's full strength!" Her smile widened, "You know what... I bet you'd be really fun to fight. What do you say? Would you like a spar?" She placed her hand on the hilt of her katana.

Ash shrugged and said, "Let me find my sword first..." He rummaged around in the stuff, then pulled out an old, disty broadsword. It had ancient runes on the side, and he looked at them and read off, "Brunheiid, Sword of the Harpie. This is it!" He drew it out of its sheath, and it was an intricately carved, silver, sword. He tossed it from hand to hand, then nodded and said, "Let's do this." He walked out of the shed and held the door open for her.

"Your sword has runes on it too? Cool! Only- I don't have a clue as to what mine say.." She laughed, pulling her sword into the right position and adjusting her feet, her eyes never moving off Ash. She felt the tingling sensation up and down her arms and the flames flowed freely from her fingertips. "I'm ready..."

Ash nodded and got into his fighting stance: Left foot back, right foot front, and his left hand a foot under his fight armpit, his right 3 inches above his left shoulder. He crouched down in that stance slowly.

Molly didn't need particularly to check him for weak points, as he wasn't exactly in a suit of armour. However, she figured he didn't weild his sword as slowly as a warhammer, so she had to watch out for that. I can handle that, she thought to herself confidently. Molly made the first move, rushing past Ash and swinging at his side with her katana, immediately then turning on her heels and whipping her sword around for classic defense in case he wasn't hit.

As the sword came at his side, he brought the silver sword up to defend himself from it. With the clang of metal, the sword vibrated very loudly, shaking Ash down to the bone. He swung in a large arc above his head after that, focusing more on power than strategy.

Molly ducked quickly to avoid the hit, and slashed her katana low at his knees. As this was a spar, she wouldn't draw blood of course- she'd stop herself on contact if she made it, but she made the move as strategical as possible. Molly used her head.

Ash glunf himself backwards, leaning his head forward, then made a slow stab with the sword, purposefully going about a foot to the side, then spun around with both hands on the hilt of the sword and swung a little bit above her waist.

Molly watched his moves, and wasn't tired enough to miss a swing yet. She pulled her katana quickly to block with that metallic clang, and quickly parried- spinning off the swing and slashing at his back in what seemed to be one fast movement..

Ash winced as her sword made contact, then madeone big step forward before it had time to rip any holes in his jacket. He swung his sword yet again from the other side, and made a zigzag pattern while moving.

Molly at first was a bit intimidated by the oncoming strikes, all coming from opposite directions so that when she thought she could defend against one, the other one came at her. She tried to activate the new feature of her sword- to form a bubble-like barrier, but it simply flashed before her eyes. Seeing now the sword so close and approaching so fast, in a rush of adrenalin she swung her sword at his and tried pushing it away.
